Session One - Grades 1-3

Mondays, 3:15 PM to 4 PM

 

A musical adventure filled with genies, flying carpets, magic, mayhem, and the power of love.

Registration fee per child:  $200

Session Two - Grades 4-12

Mondays, 4:15 PM to 6 PM

 

Students create a unique cabaret format exploring the music of Hamilton,

Newsies, and other new and exciting works recently seen on Broadway.

Registration fee per student:  $200

Instructor/director for both sessions is Brandon Phelps. 

​

Brandon has a performance degree from University of Northern Colorado and has instructed for JeffCo Public Schools and Bromley East Charter for the past seven years. His most recent directing project for Bromley East, THE LION KING JR, is nominated for 7 National Youth Arts Awards including Best Director. 

Brandon has directed many productions involving kids from kindergarten to 8th grade and with as many as 100 kids per production.  He previously directed the Jr version of ALADDIN, receiving National Youth Arts nominations for his ensemble, design, and direction.  His performance resume includes work with Town Hall Arts Center, Ignite and Equinox Theatres, Stage Door, and BBT (BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL).  Brandon is very excited to begin this new adventure with BBT's KidsPlay and to make some beautiful art with the students of both productions.

                                                                 

BBT Artistic Director, Christopher Willard (director of School of Rock and STEP’s The Lion King Jr) will assist with the workshops.

 

Both workshop sessions begin Sept. 11, Breckenridge location information tba.  Performances are set for the first week in December.  Space for Disney’s Aladdin and Broadway Kids is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost is $200 per child.
